Life.

Soo I have been lying in bed thinking about my future. Great.
I think I may have decided to change my life direction a little. I originally was NOT planning on doing my thesis, but the more I think about it, it really would close a lot of doors. The next problem that arises is the problem that has had me stuck for the past year - what to write my thesis on. I looked into all the Psychology professors at Guelph and there are a few that peak my interest. I definitely want to stick with counseling-type research to (possibly) lead into graduate school. I need to look more into this, but it may not be as bad as first thought. I originally was trying to take the easy way out by taking a bunch of random courses for my final year, but this way I can still take a bunch of fun random courses, and ALSO research something that could be interesting as well. It may be better than taking a bunch of science electives that DO NOT interest me at all. I am supposed to be at university to learn, so I may as well get the most of it.
I realize I am spontaneous and I may change my mind sometime this summer. But I really should try to get some good studying habits. I guess I was just waiting for something to really grab me, and interest me, and motivate me. Maybe this thesis could be the answer since I choose what it is on.
Anyways, that is my train of thought as of May 11, 2009.
Let's see where this train takes me.
Choo choooooo.

(couldn't resist the pun).

Mother's Day.

I have been thinking all morning/afternoon.

I realized today that I am a hypocrite about a defining aspect of my life I like to live by - Karma.
I believe(d) that good things happen to good people. Makes sense.
On the other hand, my mother was (mostly) a very kind-hearted, nurturing person and she died young.
What is the sense behind this? I am really trying to appreciate karma and live by what it means, but there are exceptions that make me a hypocrite in my thought. Maybe I just need to appreciate that karma truly is a good idea to go on, and there are always going to be exceptions to theories. Unfortunately, I really wish this theory was like gravity - completely explained and lived by.
Guess this is just something that I will have to try to understand and appreciate with time.

End of thought pattern.
Gardening commences.

Cowboy, Take Me Away.

I said, I wanna touch the earth
I wanna break it in my hands
I wanna grow something wild and unruly
I wanna sleep on the hard ground
In the comfort of your arms
On a pillow of bluebonnets
In a blanket made of stars
Oh, it sounds good to me

Cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free, oh I pray
Closer to heaven above and
Closer to you, closer to you

I wanna walk and not run
I wanna skip and not fall
I wanna look at the horizon
And not see a building standing tall
I wanna be the only one
For miles and miles
Except for maybe you
And your simple smile
Oh, it sounds good to me
Yes it sounds so good to me

Cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free, oh I pray
Closer to heaven above and
Closer to you, closer to you

I said I wanna touch the earth
I wanna break it in my hands
I wanna grow something wild and unruly
Oh, it sounds so good to me

Cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free, oh I pray
Closer to heaven above and
Closer to you, closer to you

Closer to you
Cowboy take me away
Closer to you

The Incident.

It seems that you will never let me live down the whipped cream incident.
It was supposed to be a loving gesture, and it all went bad.
Thanks lovely... for putting that as your display picture.

Jerk.

What a Shitty Day.

I'm not sure if it's the weather, or what. But I feel like shit today and don't want to leave the house.
I am having an incredibly ugly day, I'm still pissed off and on edge about last night...
And now the fucking 50 year olds downstairs are smoking weed and is pouring up through my vents. Great. Thank you Mother Earth for this spectacular day!
...

Grown up.

I hate grown up conversations.
I still have the urge to freak out and be dramatic, but somehow I resist.

You are lucky you are so frikkin amazing.

Victoria Intro Please.

side note: my computer is really dirty - clean this soon.

Friday-
... after the sad airport drop-off.
Once I was in the airport, I had to check my bags. Since I was sad (for leaving Lyle), and irritated (because I was hungry again), and irritated2 (because I was tired and wanted to sleep), I snapped at one of the ladies (who was not nice themselves!) because I had to weigh my bags twice. End of the world, right? Well it sure was at 7:15am. Since I am so calm and collected (ha) I was the bigger-small person and walked on through.
One aspect kind of made me worried/relieved at the same time. Your checked bag can only be 23.0kg, and mine weighed in at 22.2kg. The part that was really funny was the fact that the suitcase that was so heavy was completely full of clothes and ONLY clothes. After I checked in, I walked all the way down to the gate, then all the way back to Tim Horton's. I was constantly sanitizing my hands every 5 minutes or so, then I went on the plane and was HUGE & mostly Korean people. The guy sitting next to me was a wannabe-bodybuilder and was dying of the Swine Flu. Awesome. I took a couple Gravol, tried my hardest to get comfortable and passed out lying in numerous awkward positions for 3 hours. Woke up, ate an apple fritter (yum) and passed out again. Then woke up again, ate a bagel and yogurt and watched The Reader on the TV. Didn't even finish it because we landed in Vancouver about 20 minutes before it was over, brutal.
I sat in the airport chatting with Lyle and Rachel until my next flight took off. It was really cool walking out of the doors, onto the runway and into the plane (like down South). The plane was very tiny and a guy that was travelling from Thailand (JEALOUS) was chatting with me for the whole 15 minute flight. It was really cool how little the plane was and stuff. I was so excited at this point.
We landed, I got my luggage and waited for Kathie to meet me. She came running over (very tanned, jealous) and met up with Tom and Yonik, whom both gave me hugs which was a nice "welcome to the island" gesture. We stopped at a Subway and ate outside on the grass since it was so nice and GREEN here. Stopped by the Liquor Store, got some beer and wine and drove to my present home. It is so cute, I really should put some pictures up.
I set up some of my room, and hung out for some of the afternoon. Kathie and Tom (my roomies) went to get some groceries, and came back and made a delicious pasta salad with feta, chickpeas, olives, green pepper, homemade dressing etc. Crystal and Jasmine (my roomie starting in June) came over and we all headed over to the bonfire party on the outskirts of town. The house is situated on a 3-4 acre lot of trees and flowers (so nice). The beer was free and we all hung out talking all night. It was a potluck so there was great food and fun people. There was a jam session downstairs with drums, tamborines and guitars that people were singing to, and same with around the fire. By midnight, I was exhausted because I was still on Ontario time (which is 3 hours ahead) so I hitched a ride home with a few people. Kathie's door sometimes locks on its own, so I had to crawl thru the front window. I crawled into bed and passed out until 8:00am when I was wide awake.

Saturday-
Woke up, Tom made Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, avacado, and homemade hollandaise sauce, sat around writing, and watching Pirates of the Carribean. By 5:00pm, we went to the grocery store got dinner and made a delicious meal with southwestern chicken breast and honey dijon salad. Tom and Kathie are great cooks and roomies :). We downloaded My Girlfriend's Best Girl or something like that (bad movie) then we all called it an early night.

Sunday-
Woke up early again, and chatted with Lyle on the tele. Had some breakfast and headed down to do some thrift shopping. Picked up some cool things and got some Subway for lunch on the grass. Took the bus back to the grocery store, got some food (muchly needed) and stopped off at home. Jasmine came over, and chatted for a bit. We then headed downtown to go to a couple stores, including the most overwhelming Value Village ever. I spent $35.00 there on stuff for my room and romance novels. It was 6:30pm, so we headed back to the house and made sandwiches and fresh smoothies for dinner. Sat around for a little while, and watched The Great Gatsby.

Today we are dropping off resumes around town and (fingers crossed) finding a job. I am quite desperate right now, not only because I am doing nothing, but also because I love money. ha.
I'm going to go shower and get a move on, I've been sitting on the same couch for 2 1/2 hours.

SO EXCITED FOR HOUSEBOATING THIS SUMMER! woot! Lyle is now coming, and it looks like it's going to be one hell of an epic weekend. Can't wait!

The Great Gatsby.

I read this book back in high school, and I really enjoyed it. I had never seen the movie which was filmed in the 70's - until last night. Kathie and I sat down and watched it, and it is pretty much the worst acting I've ever seen. It plays some of the same scenes over and over, and the same music gets played over and over.
On top of that, literally half the movie is completely random and it's just there to pass time.
It really infuriated me because I really enjoyed the book. It was quite enjoyable making fun of it the entire time though.

End of rant.

Love Boat Continued.

Sum up of our weekend away...

Wednesday-
Last week, the fam went out for dinner at a place called Mills Street Brewery down in the Distillery district. We got to try a couple beers, but they were not very good. After stuffing myself with food, Emily and I got dropped off at LILY ALLEN. We ended up pretty close to the front of the stage when Natalie Portman's Shaved Head went on, and they were catchy. They had songs about beards and ponytails. It was mostly all girls, so they were all catty and wouldn't move so everyone was sardined together. I was getting really claustrophobic because I'm so short, and my sister was getting lightheaded so we headed towards the back so we could both breathe. Lily Allen sounded really great (I could hardly see though), and I felt like shit from dinner. We walked from the Docks to Union, and I was almost doubled over from tummy pains. I'm not sure what did it, but I was in alot of pain.

Thursday-
After having breakfast with Emily, I got ready to meet Rachel downtown. We walked down to Queen St. to find somewhere to eat lunch, and came across this cute Cafe that turned out to be really great. We went to the Condom Shack and looked at some funky stuff, then went down Yonge St. and did some shopping (including the Stag Shop) around the Eaton's Center. We headed back to Union so Rachel could go back to Oakville, and I met up with Jessika. We went to Casey's and had some appetizers, caught up and drank cheap drinks. We then took like 50 pictures of ourselves before I dropped her off at Union. I headed home, and ran into my friend Josh from Guelph coincidentally on the Subway. I got stuck on the subway for over a half hour, which was sweet. I stopped by the grocery store before I headed home, and then talked to Lyle on the phone about last minute plans.

Friday-
Woke up (excited) and got all my stuff together for the weekend. Headed downtown and caught the bus to Waterloo. The (large) guy sitting next to me was flowing into my seat so my feet were in the aisle, very uncomfortable. On top of that, there were 2 very annoying girls sitting across the bus talking about really stupid things at the TOP OF THEIR LUNGS. Once we got to Guelph, I could move to sitting by myself and took interest in the cutest baby ever sitting in front of me. I played with my new camera until I got to Waterloo. I was really excited to see Lyle even though he didn't see me right away.
We went to an Italian Food Store to have lunch, which was super good. We ate outside since it was a beautiful day. Lyle went and re-packed his stuff (with my discretion) and I rushed him to hurry up because it was already 2:30pm and we had a long drive ahead of us. We stopped by a small store to grab a couple drinks with our cherry dessert and drove down to Niagara-on-the-Lake. On the way, we stopped at an ice cream place that makes the ice cream in store. We were greeted by a very flamboyant girl who was definitely sweet on Lyle and we tested some flavors. Lyle stole my fav flav but we shared anyways. Mmm, Mint Chocolate Chip and Pralines & Cream. We ate outside, teasing each other and spilling in some awkward places.
We arrived at the Hilltop Manor B&B and was greeted with, literally, open arms. Karen (the owner) was sweet and welcoming and gave us a tour of the house. Their dog Toby was ubber cute and playful too. We went up to our room and both fell in love with it. It was perfect; king sized bed (with HIGH thread count sheets - was slipping off of them, ha), fireplace, ensuite bathroom with windows all around. Once we got settled, we headed down to the LCBO to pick up some local wine and went to Valu-mart for Strawberries, whipped cream and RedBulls (awkward). We went back to the room and I was distracted while planning our dinner plans and decided to go to a little restaurant called SixOne Bistro. We got beautified and drove down to the restaurant. It seemed that the weekend was meant for us in almost every way, and we were seated at the front booth with a view of the street. Considering it was one of the most reasonable places for price, our meals were quite excellent. After dinner, it was too chilly to go for a walk, so we headed back to the B&B, put on robes and bathing suits, and headed down to the hot tub that was situated outside. We drank some Bees wine and enjoyed the jets of the hot tub. It was a therapeutic hot tub so it was quite intense. Again, the weekend was meant for us when the clouds all separated and the stars came out. It was really perfect. We hung out in the hot tub for far too long, until we got all prune-y and went inside. Had a quick shower, and sat in front of the fireplace drinking Dan Ackroyd wine which was terrible.

Saturday-
We woke up to our alarms going off, telling us to get ready for our breakfast. At 9:00am, we went downstairs to the dining room and had coffee, tea, poppy seed loaf, an apple and oats appetizer (so to speak) and a very fancy breakfast. It was quite, quite good. We sat around and chatted with Karen for a bit until we were kind of rushed for time to check-out. We got all our stuff together and loaded up the car. Lyle (successfully) managed to take some great pictures of us outside the B&B. It was a gorgeous day, absolutely perfect. We then parked a little ways from town, and walked to the shops and looked around. We didn't really buy anything of consequence other than pastries. We went to a little lunch place and had some sandwiches out on the patio (it was crazy windy - dancing lettuce) and then finished up our window-shopping. We went into (the worst) lingerie store ever, and Lyle had a "small world" moment with the woman working there. I wanted to go to the water, so we headed down and walked through a really lovely cemetery. It was incredibly old and most of the stones were falling apart. We lay down on the grass and it was fabulous. The wind, the temperature, the peacefulness. Lyle dozed off for a bit, so I ventured around and took some pictures. Lyle discovered that scones are best served with butter and jam, then we walked down towards the water. There was a wedding that had just finished and the "get-away car" was a Saturn strewn with JUST MARRIED signs and stuff which we thought was kind of funny. We skipped some stones and enjoyed a moment of Slumdog Millionaire, and headed back to the car. We got pelted with a mini sand/rock storm and drove away from our first adventure in Niagara-on-the-Lake after eating some strawberries and drinking some RedBull. We headed towards Fort Erie on the Niagara Parkway to see Lyle's parents, and Lyle took me to Crystal Beach (I think) which looks out onto the lake. It was a little chilly but we hiked down the rocks to the water and sat and enjoyed the view and the moment until I got too cold. We arrived at Lyle's parents gorgeous house and was again greeted with open arms. His mom gave me a tour of the house, and we all sat outside by the fire having some snacks before the (AMAZING) dinner. It started to rain so we ran in for cover to the cabin that is behind the house. Turns out it is a Timberframe (like ours) and has almost exact layout as ours. It was quite bizarre and really made me think we are too similar (in a good way of course!). We all sat and chatted until dinner was ready and it was delicious. Mouth watering type of good with Yorkshire Pudding and roast. For dessert we had fruit and homemade white chocolate dipping sauce.
Side note: No wonder I gained so much weight recently!
Lyle and I stayed in the cabin for a bit then headed inside and we all had candy cane tea in our pajamas.

Sunday-
Woke up and lay in bed for a bit. I went and had a shower and got ready. Headed downstairs and chatting with Lyle's parents while making lunch. Ate some homemade pizza and drank some tea until Lyle's grandmother came over for a visit. Chatted for a little bit, until it was getting time to pack up and head 'er. Lyle took me for a spin or two... on a golf cart around their property which was cool. Pictures were taken and we headed out to Niagara Falls while listening to The Beatles. We stopped at the Outlet Mall and Lyle got some nice new shirts. I was rushing him because I had a surprise for him once we got to the hotel. Lyle wanted to stop by the LCBO before we got to the hotel, but I told him it was a bad idea so we could get there on time. We checked in, really fast, got our stuff and headed to our room. He had to go move the car, and I made sure I wasn't too late for the appointment. I guided Lyle gracefully, of course towards the spa. He seems to actually likes surprises so he didn't peak. I accidently crashed him into a couple walls on the way. I brought him to the spa and surprised him (kind of) to a back massage. While he was in there, I went back upstairs and showered and relaxed in our room looking over the falls. Lyle came back to the room and we got planned out night out. The receptionist at the hotel said the LCBO was open until 9:00pm, but unfortunately BOTH locations closed at 5:00pm, including the Wine Rack. We stopped at the grocery store and grabbed some RedBull and chips to snack on which were quite addicting. We drove back to the hotel and made our way to our dinner reservation overlooking the falls. The drinks were not up-to-snuff but the rest of the meal was quite appetizing. We had creme brulee for dessert and then headed back up to the room. Drank some RedBull, bickered for a few minutes, and Lyle took me to a secret room (the ice room) to warm me up because I was cold and grumpy. We decided to head down to the casino and we lost a bunch on slots. Lyle found an electronic version of Roulette and Lyle won a bunch of money on our #2. That was another really cool moment of the weekend. Lyle was getting slightly addicted but had the willpower to say no to gambling and we headed back up to the room. We were going to order some wine from room service but it was closed - lame. Lyle decided to open up the VQA wine that was in the room (which was also not good) and didn't finish it.

Monday-
Woke up, planned out the day and checked out. Left our stuff in the car, and walked down to find a buffet somewhere. Unfortunately we didn't find one, so we settled for (an expensive!) Denny's. It was good but not worth the money. We walked down to the falls, took some pictures and headed to the Butterfly Conservatory. It was probably my favorite part of the entire weekend (and I had an amazing weekend). It was so pretty. We hung out there for a couple hours and made friends with the very flirtatious butterflies. Bernie was my favorite. We grabbed a couple drinks and sat outside in the shade for a bit soaking up the beautiful day. We then got back in the car and headed towards Hamilton for dinner with my sister. We hung out for a couple hours, chatting and making fun of me (of course). We drove back to Waterloo and was the first night in weeks that we didn't drink. We ended up setting up a sleeping bag and having blueberry tea and Caramel Cone Explosion icecream outside in the backyard. The stars came out for us and we made good use of the pillows we brought out. We both passed out for a bit, until one of us woke up and went to sleep inside.

Tuesday-
Woke up nice and early because Lyle had to go back to work (lame) so I bused back to Guelph and passed out hardcore for a while. I was going to get all packed up, but procrastinated all afternoon. I wasn't feeling super great either so that added to it. Lyle came over after work and Lyle made steak and grilled veggies for dinner while drinking Pina Coladas. We took it easy during the night and because I wasn't feeling so hot.

Wednesday-
Lyle had to go to work again (lame) so I stayed in bed while feeling really shitty all day. I somehow found the energy to clean the house, clean out the fridge (EW) and pack up my life for 4 months. After that, i went back to sleep for a bit, showered and then Lyle came to meet me. I packed up the rest of my stuff, we loaded the car and headed to Waterloo. On the way we stopped at The Red Papaya for some Vietnamese food. I had some Pho and tea while Lyle scarfed down his meal. We went home and took it easy since I was feeling like poonanner. Lyle made some tea and gave me a VaporRub and a warming Magicbag. <3

Thursday- last day
Woke up still feeling off, Lyle made some eggos (one of the many items he cleaned out of my house) and juice in bed. He had to go to work, so I went back to sleep for a few hours. I woke up, made some expired chicken noodle soup (expired in 2005) and tea and watched tv all afternoon until Lyle got home from work. We decided to take an easy night, so we made pasta and salad with some beer. Lyle's friends Chris and Steve came over for a bit, but didn't stay too long. Lyle and I enjoyed our last night together by watching some of the Office and having Blueberry tea.

Friday- move to Victoria
Woke up at 5:00am, had some Sugarcrisp and tea/coffee. Got all my stuff together and headed to the airport. Once at the airport, it took approx. 10 minutes to say goodbye. It really f***ing sucked. I haven't swore in writing this at all, so you must know that I was very passionate about this, and it was really f***ing hard to say goodbye. I miss him terribly. :(

Anyways it has literally taken me all day to write this, so I am going to stop here and continue about the trip in Victoria another time. I think we are doing a Lord of the Rings marathon tonight, so that should be sweet.
I miss my grizzly bear.
